About Kirsty Mills

Abstract Stag Painting

Hello and welcome to my web page. My name is Kirsty and I’m an artist…but there’s more to me than that. I live in a little house in the countryside with my Hubby and our rescue dogs. I’ve been lucky enough to work with children all my working life, both in the classroom and also outside of the classroom as a Forest School Leader. I’m currently attempting to teach myself a new language and do as much gardening as possible. I don’t mind doing a bit of DIY and Hubby and I are currently restoring old motorbikes as well! I enjoy as much family & friends time as I can get and also enjoy exploring the world when the purse allows and we get the chance to. As a little arty side-line and a bit of an extra hobby I also make dream catchers and sun catchers to order and/or to sell in my Etsy shop and I enjoy dabbling in other homemade crafts and gifts too. I’ve recently started pyrography (decorative wood burning) and I’m hoping to try my hand at airbrush art soon so watch this space!

So that’s a little bit about me personally, but what sort of arty things do I do, and what can I do for you? Well, you’ll already know that there is a huge amount of art out there and many types of artists creating it. Sometimes categorising us all can be tricky and misleading as making art is an ever evolving process for the maker and whilst some artists make art of a similar style all their lives, other artists are often more than capable of producing a broad range of art that may not be instantly recognisable as their own work at first. Just have a look at my artwork on my homepage to see what I mean and what sort of images I am able produce, I usually like to let my work speak for itself, but I’ll do my best to describe my style!

I create original art and commissioned art, so one day I might be painting whatever I want, the next I might be approached to paint a realistic pet portrait, the next day I might be asked to produce an abstract artwork or use a very precise palette of colours to fit a specific colour scheme already in place in a room. I use various mediums including watercolours, acrylics and gouache and I’ve painted on all sorts of things from paper and canvas to rocks and bedroom walls! Some of my works have been professionally photographed and turned into high quality prints whilst other art will be totally one of a kind and never reproduced. I often use metallic, iridescent, fluorescent and phosphorescent (glow in the dark) paints in my work and often have to take a UV torch with me to exhibitions to show off their effects properly!

I’m happiest when I can let my imagination go and paint whatever I want but I am very happy create original commissioned pieces of artwork, please feel free to contact me for information about art commissions. I have various online shops that produce different selections of my artwork on all kinds of things! You can find my shops on RedBubble and Etsy just search for KirstyMillsArt (yes all one word!), or click the links on the main menu to go straight there, or if you prefer to buy any art, prints or crafts directly from me just get in touch and I’ll see what I can do for you.

To make inquiries or purchases please leave a comment for me here on my website or message me via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. I’ll get back to you ASAP.

Visit my online Etsy & RedBubble shops to see a full range of my art, handcrafted and printed items, these can be purchased instantly. My Etsy shop is the place to look for my dream catchers and one off handmade gifts whilst my RedBubble shop has my designs printed on things like phone cases, T-shirts, homewares etc. I understand that people can be wary of following web links to new webpages and sites, I am too at times. So if you want to find my online shops on your own all you have to do is type KirstyMillsArt (no gaps between the words) into the search bar on Etsy and RedBubble to find my shops.

If you would prefer to avoid contact via social media and would prefer to meet in person to talk about your personal requirements that’s fine too, I’m always happy to answer your questions and help where I can. I exhibit my work publicly with several different art groups and participate in art fairs throughout the year, this is a great way to see my art up close and have an informal chat if you are considering a purchase or commission. My social media pages have up to date information about when and where I will be, I hope to see you soon!
